Product Review: Cocomels coconut milk caramels

Cocomels are a dairy free caramel candy from JJ’s Sweets.  I’ve eating them for a while, but they sent me a new flavor to try, so I thought I would write a Cocomels review.

They are creamy caramels made with coconut milk, instead of dairy.

They come is the following flavors

  • coconut sugar (their newest)
  • original
  • sea salt
  • vanilla
  • espresso

Seasonal flavors

  • gingerbread spice

  • High in sugar. If you are watching your sugar intake, It doesn’t matter the source of the sugar.
  • A serving  of the Coconut Sugar is 6 pieces, which contains 130 calories and 13 grams of sugar. 20 carbs That is a lot of sugar, but who says you have to have 6 pieces? I have one, which is 21 calories and 2 grams of sugar. Coconut Sugar has a stronger flavor and is firmer.
  • A serving of the Sea Salt is also 6 pieces with 120 calories, 21 carbs, and 16 grams of sugar. If I only have one it is roughly 20 calories, 2 1/2 grams of sugar. Sea salt has a more mild flavor and is softer.

I’ve also had the vanilla, but I haven’t tried the other flavors yet.
