Product Review: Complete by Juice Plus+

Complete by Juice Plus+ is a protein shake mix that comes in vanilla and chocolate. It boasts

• 13 grams of protein
• 8 grams of fiber
• <1 gram of fat

The following have also been added to the mix: an enzyme blend, Calcium, vitamin D, B6, vitamin C, Iron, Riboflavin, Thiamin, Niacin and B12.

It is suggested that it can be used as an “one the go” breakfast drink, mixed in a smoothie, as a workout protein drink, meal replacement for weight loss or as a snack. It can be mixed in milk, juice or however you like. I did find it took a little bit of work to get it all blended, but I just did it by hand. Would probably be easier with a blender.

• dutch chocolate

I was able to sample both flavors. I must say they were both tasty. No funky aftertaste. Smooth texture as well.

Cons:

• 11 grams of sugar
• contains soy protein isolate* and soy fiber* and soy lecithin* (not organic)
• most ingredients are not organic
• contains gums – be aware if you are sensitive to gums
• processed on equipment that also processes peanuts, tree nuts, milk, egg, sesame and shellfish – be aware if you are sensitive to these items

 

It states they use “water-washed soy”. I emailed the company directly to find out more about how the soy is processed, While they did give a prompt reply regarding other things, they did not give an answer to that particular question.
